Cheap Used Cars -Information and Tips

It’s easier than at any other time in history to find cheap used cars, thanks to the World Wide Web. With private listings, auction sites like eBay and live auction listings, used car superstores, dealerships listing used cars online, and all sorts of other options it’s a snap to find cheap used cars, compare their features and prices and even complete the purchase. Understand some tips and tricks to avoid unscrupulous car sales on line.

Online doesn’t mean 100% honest.  People trust newspapers too much, and the same goes for the web.  People can lie in magazines and books.  It’s the same online.  It’s all too easy to create a convincing lie online, even faked images and movie proof.  Unscrupulous individuals flock to the web.  All the signs of a bad deal can be hidden in the remote world of the Internet.  Scratches and dents can be edited out by anyone with an image software.  “As is” is still the rule on the net, but people ignore common sense.  Diligence is always wise even though every online car seller isn’t a crook.

Let a good mechanic look at a used car before the purchase.  Take it to a garage.  If it’s an online listing where no contact is expected, hire a garage to inspect the car for you.  Many mechanics offer a remote inspection service.  There’s no need to rely on the seller’s inspection or garage.  Get a look from someone not involved in the sale. For under $50 you can avoid problems that could cost thousands, including the money spent on the cheap used car purchase price.

Don’t haggle monthly payments, negotiate price.  Even if the salesman keeps telling you about low monthly payments, ask for the price.  Avoid the dealer’s financing because it’s often a way to jack up the price.  Go in with your own financing or better yet save up to pay cash for the used car.  Remember to demand a discount for a cash payment.

It is possible to buy cheap used cars.  Buyers aren’t on their own when looking.  Don’t let a shiny pitch trick you into a bad purchase.
